Judging

Western Australian

All students will submit their laboratory journal, research project report, and scientific poster for judging in early February of each year. Semi-finalists will be selected from this group.

WA Semi-Finals

Western Australian semi finalists will present a 10 minute presentation to a judging panel followed by 5 minutes of questioning by the panel.
The top two students will be named the WA Regional Finalists and will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete in the sanofi-aventis BioGENEius Challenge in the USA.

International Challenge

The 16 regional finalists from the United States, Canada, and Western Australia will compete in the International competition that is held in conjunction with the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Annual International Convention.

Finalists will present their projects to a panel of expert biotech judges and display their projects to convention participants.

The Judges decision is final and without appeal at all levels of competition.
