A Bad Feeling of Dj Vu in Albany

Following numerous complaints from Albany residents concerned about a clothing outlet that has failed to pay clients for selling their clothes or return goods, the Consumer Protection Commissioner has decided to warn consumers about dealing with Just Dj vu of Middleton Road Albany.

“Officers of our department have discussed the nature of the various complaints with the proprietor Ms Jonica Horner and I am not satisfied that she has taken adequate steps to protect the rights of her customers.

The fact that consumers are reporting the non-payment for goods they placed with the trader on consignment as well as not being able to get their property returned to them is of concern to me”, Patrick Walker said.

Department of Consumer and Employment Protection officers from both Albany and Perth have attempted to meet with Ms. Horner to work towards her addressing the complaints but to date a majority of the arrangements and meetings agreed to have not been complied with.

“A good general practice when providing goods for sale on consignment is to agree to only small transactions until the payment and trading methods of the seller are known. Consignment sellers who are not paid by an on-seller can consider legal action to recover their losses”, Commissioner Walker said.

The department’s efforts to meet with Just Dj vu’s proprietor continue.

Consumer Protection can be emailed 24 hours a day at online@docep.wa.gov.au <mailto:online@docep.wa.gov.au> or contacted by telephone during normal working hours on local call 1300 30 40 54.
