Perth's petrol prices at a 14 month low

Perth's average unleaded petrol (ULP) prices will hit 82.5 cents per litre (cpl) tomorrow, a fourteen month low. What is more impressive is that 99 sites around the metropolitan area will be selling their fuel below 80 cpl.

Barbara Macnish, Consumer Protection's Assistant Prices Commissioner, said with so many retail outlets across Perth selling at these low prices motorists should benefit from using FuelWatch to find the best deal in their area.

There are 277 (78%) of the metro sites, are selling at or below the metro average.

Barbara said price cycles will still continue so consumers should keep their eye on fuel prices and use FuelWatch to help them purchase before a price hike.

"We cannot predict what is going to happen over the next couple of days. However one of the major oil companies increasing prices significantly is the trigger for a new price hike.

"Once consumers see this happen they know fuel prices are on the rise again. Motorists can always buy at the best price by using FuelWatch to pick and choose when and where to buy fuel.

"FuelWatch provides tomorrows prices to the public by 3pm each day via the free email service, website, phone service or through the media.

"Motorists can check the FuelWatch website (www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au) or ring the information telephone service for the cost of a local call (1300 55 08 08). Motorists can even subscribe to the free email service by clicking on the free price emails button on the website."

The FuelWatch service provides WA motorists with accurate daily information empowering them to deal more effectively with fuel price changes.
