Petrol Prices Rise (Monday 20-11-06) BP triggers price hike again

Monday 20th November is the first day of a new petrol price cycle in Perth, which means that the price of unleaded petrol (ULP) in metropolitan Perth is on the way up.   FuelWatch is encouraging motorists to buy their petrol today or tomorrow while cheaper prices are still available.

Approximately 14% of petrol stations in Perth will hike their prices tomorrow - approximately 63% of BP branded petrol outlets are increasing their ULP price to 119.9 cents per litre (cpl).

The average ULP price in Perth tomorrow will rise to 110.9 cpl but the good news for motorists is that 67% of petrol stations will sell at or below this price.

The cheapest prices tomorrow start at 105.7 cpl and range up to 107.9 cpl, with approximately 51% of Perth metro petrol stations selling within this price range.

In the Eastern suburbs tomorrow the cheapest fuel can be purchased from 7 sites for 107.5 cpl.

In the Northern suburbs tomorrow the cheapest fuel can be purchased from 2 sites for 105.7 cpl.

And South of the river tomorrow fuel can be purchased for 105.7 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Beckenham.

Motorists can find the best prices by checking the FuelWatch website at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au or by phoning 1300 550 808.

Consumer Protection recommends that motorists check with FuelWatch before buying, to find which outlets are selling at reasonable prices, and make purchases from them during this recent price hike to avoid paying too much for fuel.
