ULP price alert - start of new price cycle
Issue Date: - Monday, 5 November 2007
FuelWatch is encouraging motorists to buy their petrol today or tomorrow while cheaper prices are still available and to check petrol prices before they buy.
Tomorrow (Tuesday 6 November) some BP and Caltex sites are increasing their unleaded petrol (ULP) prices to 136.9 cents per litre (cpl). This signals the start of a new petrol price cycle in Perth.
Petrol prices in the metropolitan area generally follow a two week cycle. Petrol prices currently increase during a two to three day period and then slowly decrease over the next week and a half. Recently the start of the petrol price cycle has been occurring fortnightly on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
The average price of ULP across Perth tomorrow is 124.1 cpl, however over 150 service stations will still be selling petrol at 121.9 cpl or less.
Tomorrow’s cheapest ULP is 118.2 cpl available at
Coles Express Middle Swan in the East;
Coles Express Edgewater in the North; and
Coles Express Canningvale in the South.
Motorists can find the best prices by checking the FuelWatch website at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au <http://www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au
or by phoning 1300 550 808.
