Efficiency of gas appliances
Appliances consume significant amounts of energy. Improving efficiency is a strategy for reducing greenhouse gases.
Currently there is no requirement in WA for gas appliances to be labelled to show their energy efficiency and energy use.
An Equipment Energy Efficiency Gas Committee, chaired by the Australian Greenhouse Office of the Department of Environment and Heritage, has been set up to implement a national regulatory scheme for minimum energy performance standards and labelling for gas appliances and equipment.
