Connecting with Regional Communities
Labour Relations Education Services introduces a State wide education campaign for regional workers and employers.
The Connecting with Regional Communities program delivers employment information to employers and employees who work under the state jurisdiction.
2009 Programs:
- South West Campaign - 23 to 27 February 2009
- Central Coast Campaign - 23 to 26 March 2009
- Peel Region Campaign - 24 to 28 August 2009
- Avon Valley Campaign - 26 to 30 October 2009
The program aims to assist employers in developing better workplace relations by advising them of their legal employment obligations. Understanding and providing the correct wages and entitlements minimises both workplace disputes and any consequences related to non-compliance of industrial laws.
Labour Relations has developed a range of tools and publications to help employers maintain correct employment records – a key aspect of building successful and competitive businesses.
Labour Relations Education Services works with various organisations including metropolitan and regional TAFE colleges, migrant resource centres, community based indigenous employment programs, business groups and employer associations to deliver relevant employment information using a variety of learning tools, including:
- The easy to read Award Wage Summaries cover rates of pay and conditions
- Employing someone - an easy guide for small business employers
- Templates for employment record keeping
- Working with Migrant Workers publication
- The Your First Job online learning resource for youth and new employees
