Migrant workers program
Interpreter assistance is available for all Labour Relations services.
Migrant workers are particularly vulnerable because of their cultural backgrounds, potential lack of knowledge of their employment rights and fear of losing their jobs.
Labour Relations provides services for migrant workers, including telephone advice, one-on-one meetings and seminars on request.
A community program has been developed to build relationships with migrant people through a range of educational and community groups offering services to migrant workers.
The program aims to increase migrant workers’ awareness of their workplace rights and obligations and how to access advice and assistance on employment matters.
The brochure Migrants working in Western Australia is available here on this website.
Copies of the publication are available free; to get your copy phone Wageline on 1300 655 266 or email migrants@commerce.wa.gov.au.
