Our purpose

The Industry, Science and Innovation Division is a part of the Western Australian Department of Commerce portfolio. Our purpose is to facilitate strategic investment in industrial, scientific and innovation capacity and capture the benefits for the State.

Our portfolio

We assist the Minister for Science and Innovation and the Minister for Commerce through the Industry and Technology Development Act 1998. We are part of a wider industry, science and innovation portfolio, which includes the Technology and Industry Advisory Council and the Office of the Chief Scientist.
