Information on the department's works to assist the mining and oil / gas equipment and services industry.
The Department of Commerce is Austrade's partner in delivering the TradeStart Program.
The objectives of the program are to:
- Assist small and medium sized enterprises to commence exporting
- Convert irregular exporters to sustainable export activity
- Provide assistance to established exporters to expand their markets.

In addition, the Department has a role to promote Western Australia's mining and oil / gas equipment and services industry, both nationally and internationally. A dedicated section has been created on this website to Showcase WA. This section will be further developed later in the year.
