The Australian Marine Complex (AMC) is a world-class centre of excellence in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance and technology servicing the marine, defence, oil and gas, and resource industry.
The AMC has established international credentials for the repair, maintenance and construction of naval and commercial vessels, as well as infrastructure for the fabrication and assembly of offshore oil and gas modules.
The AMC is the southern hemisphere’s premier integrated marine industrial facility that enables industry to deliver projects of an international scale.
Located at Henderson, 23 kilometres south of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and on the shores of Cockburn Sound, the AMC provides protected deepwater harbours, world class multi-user load-out and fabrications facilitation and is connected to industrial areas via high-wide load road access.
Recent additions to the AMC include a technologically advanced floating dock, a $35 million service and supply base and a 200 metre Ro-Ro and load-out wharf.
The AMC comprises four precincts and two facilities:
- Technology Precinct
- Fabrication Precinct, including the recently developed Subsea Cluster
- Shipbuilding Precinct
- Support Industry Precinct
- Common User Facility
- Marine Support Facility.
Since its opening in July 2003, the AMC has delivered more than 360 major infrastructure projects worth in excess of $660 million and generated more than 9,900 jobs.
