The state Electrical Contracting Industry Award has been amended to increase the tool allowance to $16.80 per week for tradespeople (with a proportionate increase for apprentices). Other allowances including meal allowance and the leading hand allowance have also been increased.

The changes were effective as of the first pay period on or after 5 November 2015.
