Retail trading hours for the Labour Day (March 6) and Easter Monday (April 17) public holidays will be extended by four hours, with major retailers being able to open from 8am to 6pm.
Commerce Minister Michael Mischin has approved the extension from the standard 11am-5pm trading times for general retail shops on Sundays and public holidays.
"The extended hours this year are consistent with those in previous years," Mr Mischin said.
"It's not compulsory for any business to trade during the extended hours, but it does open up opportunities for retailers to open earlier or trade later in the day if they choose to do so.
"While trading hours have been extended for Labour Day and Easter Monday, major retailers and supermarkets in Perth will remain closed on Good Friday.
"The reform of retail trading hours has been one of the hallmark policies of the Liberal National Government and has proven to be popular with shoppers and highly successful for the retail sector.
"Late night weekday trading and Sunday trading have been major reforms that the Government has implemented since 2010, giving consumers more choice and shop owners more flexibility in meeting customer demand in a tough trading environment.
"If re-elected in March, the Government will continue its policy of incrementally easing retail trading restrictions with the introduction of an earlier opening time of 9am on Sundays."
- Unrestricted 11am-5pm Sunday and public holiday trading (except for Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day) began on August 26, 2012 and weekday late night trading until 9pm began on November 1, 2010 for general retail shops in Perth
