Free regional building industry events

Building industry participants in regional WA are invited to free information seminars this month, presented by the State Government’s building regulator.

Topics at the Building and Energy events include determination of wind classifications and residential timber framing audit findings.

There will also be an update on the National Construction Code’s (NCC) 2022 edition and guidance on performance solutions; evidence of suitability and complying with energy efficiency requirements, as well as processing building permits.

Building and Energy Acting Executive Director Peter Stewart said the roadshow would be of interest to all participants in the building and construction sector, including builders, building surveyors, architects, designers and staff in local government building sections.

“As a regulator, one of our key functions is to educate and empower the industries we regulate,” Mr Stewart said.

“These sessions are an important opportunity to learn about significant issues for the industry. Participants will also be able to share information and ask questions about particular areas of interest.”

The free events will run from 9am to 3pm with a light lunch provided:

  • Broome (Mangrove Hotel) – Friday 13 October
  • Albany (City of Albany) – Tuesday 17 October
  • Esperance (Shire of Esperance) – Friday 20 October
  • Busselton (City of Busselton) – Tuesday 24 October
  • Geraldton (City of Greater Geraldton) – Friday 27 October

Registration is essential via Building and Energy’s Eventbrite listings or the “events and seminars” link at commerce.wa.gov.au/building-and-energy/stay-informed
