As of January 1 2018, for the period to  March 31 2018, the State has a new WorkSafe WA Commissioner.

Ian Munns has commenced in the position after previous Commissioner Lex McCulloch retired from the Public Service at the end of 2017.  Mr Munns also holds the title of A/Deputy Director General, Safety Regulation.  He moves into the role from his previous role as A/Executive Director, Building Commission.

Mr Munns has held several positions in the WorkSafe Division of the former Department of Commerce and the current Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, including Director of Policy and Education and Executive Director, Corporate Governance and Services.

Prior to that, Mr Munns’ career included a diverse range of duties, from undertaking compliance activities to several positions as national manager for functions in the Commonwealth Government.
