The McGowan Government has approved extended trading for the two public holidays on Monday 4 June 2018 (WA Day) and Monday 24 September 2018 (Queen’s Birthday) when general retail shops in the Perth metropolitan area will be able to open from 8am to 6pm.

These hours are consistent with previous retail trading extensions on public holidays.

An application for additional trading hours was received from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA. Trading during period is discretionary for retailers but the extension will now give them the option to open earlier or close later depending on the demand from their customers.
