The latest fuel price cycle begins tomorrow (Wednesday 18 July 2012) with seven BP sites in Perth increasing their ULP prices to 142.9 cents per litre (cpl) – a rise of 13 cpl.
However, FuelWatch can report that the metropolitan average price for ULP will be 128.9 cents per litre tomorrow with more than 50 sites selling below $1.26 per litre.
Perth’s petrol prices follow a weekly trend where a major fuel retailer puts up the cost at the pumps and then others typically follow this increase over the next few days.
As a result of this cycle, petrol prices are, on average, cheapest on Tuesday, and tend to be at their most expensive on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:
- 127.5 cpl at Gull High Wycombe in the East;
- 118.8 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Canning Vale in the South; and
- 118.1 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Clarkson in the North;
Wednesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:
- 125.9 cpl at a number of sites in the East;
- 119.1 cpl at Coles Express Canning Vale in the South; and
- 118.8 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Clarkson in the North.
Wednesday’s LPG metropolitan average price will be 62.3 cpl with 20 sites selling for less than 57 cpl.
Drivers can log on to www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au after 2.30pm each day to compare today’s and tomorrow’s prices, or to sign up for email updates.
