WorkSafe is investigating the work-related death of a 48-year-old worker at Narrogin late yesterday.

The man was moving hay bales with a forklift at Narrogin Hay yesterday morning when he was struck by a prong of a pitchfork attachment on another forklift.  He was airlifted to Perth, but died last night.

Inspectors travelled to the site yesterday and are interviewing witnesses and investigating the circumstances.

WorkSafe thoroughly investigates serious work-related injuries and deaths in WA with a view to preventing future incidents of a similar nature.

WorkSafe WA Commissioner Lex McCulloch said any work-related death was a tragedy, and relayed his sincere condolences to the man’s family.
