Allowances increased - Metal Trades (General) Award

The state Metal Trades (General) Award has been amended to increase the tool allowance to $17.10 per week for tradespeople (with a proportionate increase for apprentices). WA minimum and award wages increased in July

A 2.1% increase to the state minimum wage and all WA award pay rates was effective from the first pay period on or after 1 July 2015. The state minimum wage for award-free employees increased by $14 per week and the new adult minimum wage is $679.90 per week. As of today, the Western Australian state minimum wage has increased by $20.00 to $665.90 per week for full time adult employees. All State award minimum rates have also increased.
