Notice of intention and eNotice

This page is for:
Plumber

All major plumbing work, except emergency work, will require a notice of intention to be submitted to Building and Energy at least 24 hours prior to any work being undertaken. A licensed plumbing contractor must not carry out, permit or arrange for major plumbing work to be carried out unless a notice of intention for the work has been submitted.

A notice of intention can only be submitted by the licensed plumbing contractor to which it is registered. Incomplete or unreadable notices will not be accepted.

If applicable, the new sanitary installation fee is payable at the time of lodging the notice of intention.

Payment of the new installation fixture fee must accompany the notice of intention where payment of this fee is required.

Please note: From 1 October 2019 paper notices will no longer be avaiable for purchase. Click here for details.
