Building surveying contractor registration
New registration (first time)
Under the Building Services (Registration) Regulations 2011 you can be registered as a building surveying contractor (level 1 or level 2), as an individual, a partnership or a company.
If you or an associated partnership or company wish to be registered as a building surveying contractor you must read the application guidelines prior to completing the appropriate registration form below and returning it to the Building Commission.
New contractor application forms are now available. Please complete and return the application form published on this webpage.
As of 1 September 2016 previous versions of the contractor forms cannot be accepted.
Time frame for application processing
Most building surveying contractor applications are determined within four weeks. You can assist by submitting all of the information required in your application and allow sufficient time for it to be fully assessed.

Please note: If you are currently an accredited building surveyor and intend to continue working for a local government or do not wish to offer building surveying services to the public, you do not need to apply for registration as a building surveying contractor.
If you currently hold a certificate of qualification issued by the Building Surveyors Qualifications Committee, you will be taken to be registered as a building surveying practitioner (level 1 or level 2) or as a building surveying technician.
