There is a wide variety of products around our home or workplace which can be dangerous if not installed or used properly.  Each year there are a number of consumer alerts and/or product recalls including sunglasses, car ramps and jacks, hot water bottles, ethanol heaters and decorative burners, electrical cables contact lens and phone chargers. 

Consumer Protection publications

Consumer Protection produces a range of product safety publications including a series of brochures on safety for kids in the home.

Product Safety Australia

Product Safety Australia, run by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), provides a great deal of information on mandatory standards, what to look for when buying products and how to make products safer in the home. They cover a broad range of topcis which include the product categories below:
