Information for Auditors of the settlement industry

Please note: From 1 July 2011 responsibility for the regulation of the settlement industry in Western Australia was transferred from the Settlement Agents Supervisory Board to the Department of Commerce and the Commissioner for Consumer Protection.

The Department, the Commissioner and the Director General replace the Board as it is mentioned in the following publications.

Change of auditor

Under Section 54 of the Settlement Agents Act 1981 an auditor's appointment is continuous unless Consumer Protection approves a subsequent change in the appointment. If you would like to lodge an application with Consumer Protection, please find the required application form below:

Declaration by Auditor;
Statutory Declaration by Agent; and
Statutory Declaration by Auditor.
