Consultation on proposed amendment to Part IV of the Electricity Regulations 1947
Proposed amendments to Part IV of the Electricity Regulations 1947 are now available for comment.
Premises used for temporary or intermittent accommodation – Installation of residual current devices
The proposed amendment can be viewed here
The proposed amendment results from a legal opinion concerning the “residential” status of premises used for temporary or intermittent accommodation and the possible effect of this opinion on the requirement in the regulations about the installation of residual current devices.
The proposed amendment will clarify that:
- accommodation used for temporary or intermittent accommodation for one, or more than one, individual is residential accommodation; and
- under prescribed circumstances, it is permissible to install a single residual current device in specified transportable structures.
Your comments on the proposed amendments to the legislation would be appreciated.
The closing date for comments is 5pm on Friday 21 July 2017.
