Tenancy Law Family Violence Amendments Training

Office closure

Our offices will close from Monday 24 December 2018 and will reopen on Thursday 3 January 2019. For urgent assistance during that period you can contact us.

Tenancy WA, in conjunction with the Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services WA, is are providing training on the upcoming Residential Tenancies Legislation Amendment (Family Violence) Bill 2018.

This Bill will provide significant new options to anyone experiencing family violence whilst party to a tenancy agreement. The powers created by the Bill include allowing a victim of family violence to terminate their interest in a tenancy and allowing the court to terminate a perpetrator's interest in a tenancy amongst a raft of other positive changes designed to benefit tenants dealing with a family violence situation.

Delivered by a specialist solicitor from Tenancy WA, the training will be directly beneficial to case workers, managers, safe at home and outreach workers and refuge advocates. The half-day session will train attendees on the new processes and outcomes that the Bill makes available.

Please note, this training is specifically intended for refuge workers and women’s health centre workers. If you are not in this group but interested in training, please contact Tenancy WA on 6263 8560.
