Work Safety Awards WA 2013
The Work Safety Awards Western Australia 2013 are now open for entry to individuals, groups, organisations or enterprises operating within Western Australia.
The awards recognise outstanding OSH management, solutions and innovation in Western Australian workplaces and are now open for submissions. WorkSafe strongly encourages you to submit an entry for a worthy individual, solution or organisation and would appreciate you informing your colleagues and contacts of the awards.
Who should enter the awards?

A workplace that has put in place an innovation that has improved safety.

A safety and health representative, OSH manager, OSH officer or co-worker who have made a difference at work.

A workplace that has an impressive safety and health management system or practices.
Entries are welcome from individuals, groups and organisations in all industries and workplaces, no matter how small the contribution has been.
Why enter the awards?
The Work Safety Awards provide recognition from the community for achievements in OSH. WorkSafe will promote winners as leaders in OSH and they will be able to use the Work Safety Awards logo to advertise their achievement.
The closing date for submissions is 5.00pm, 5 July 2013. The awards presentation will take place during Safe Work October 2013.
Key things you need to know about entering the awards:

To make an entry, read the awards booklet. This will help you work out which award category to enter.

There are four categories for the awards:

Best workplace safety and health management system
(a) Private sector
(b) Public sector -
Best solution to an identified workplace safety and health issue

Best workplace safety and health practices in small business
-
Best individual contribution to safety and health
(a) No formal OSH responsibilities (safety and health representatives are encouraged to enter)
(b) OSH manager/person with OSH responsibilities

You will need to address the criteria for the award category you are entering but you don't need to go into great detail - be brief and just include relevant details.

- The closing date for submissions is 5.00pm 5 July 2013.
- A panel of judges with experience in OSH will assess all entries.

Winners of each category will be presented with a trophy and finalists will receive a framed certificate at a function during Safe Work October 2013.
