Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 25 January 2023), the average price of regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 25 cents per litre (cpl) to 190.4 cpl. Ampol hiking by up to 47 cpl up to 209.9 cpl; Coles Express up to 205.9 cpl; EG Ampol up to 201.9 cpl; Caltex/Puma, 7-Eleven and BP up to 199.9 cpl; and Vibe up to 195.5 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 49 individual sites offering prices below 164 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 56 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $33 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 153.9 cpl at Shell High Wycombe in the East;
  • 154.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina and Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 155.7 cpl at United Perth Airport in the South; and
  • 159.5 cpl at Liberty Banksia Grove, Liberty Landsdale, Liberty Tapping and United Tapping in the North.
