Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today, motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 8 February 2023), the average price of regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 24 cents per litre (cpl) to 193.4 cpl. Coles Express hiking by up to 46 cpl up to 209.9 cpl; Vibe up to 209.5 cpl; EG Ampol, Caltex/Puma, Ampol and 7-Eleven up to 205.9 cpl; and BP and United up to 199.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 27 individual sites offering prices below 166 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 48 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $28 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 164.5 cpl at Shell High Wycombe in the East;
  • 163.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina and Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 163.9 cpl at Coles Express Bull Creek, Coles Express Southern River and Coles Express Willetton in the South; and
  • 161.3 cpl at Burk Alkimos in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 164.5 cpl at Shell High Wycombe in the East;
  • 163.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina and Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 164.3 cpl at Vibe Ascot in the South; and
  • 161.3 cpl at Burk Alkimos in the North.

Tomorrow, many sites are also hiking their liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price: Ampol, EG Ampol and Puma hiking up to 135.9 cpl. This is due to recent increases in the international benchmark price for LPG. There will still be 25 sites selling below 126 cpl.
