Employee / workerEmployer

Submissions have been invited to the WorkSafe Inquiry into safety in the agriculture sector.

In addition to the call for written submissions, Independent Inquirer Pam Scott will seek community consultation in person at venues to be announced throughout WA.

WorkSafe Commissioner Darren Kavanagh announced the Inquiry in June after the 12th death in the agriculture sector over a 12-month period. Ms Scott was appointed last month to undertake the Inquiry.

The Terms of Reference for the Inquiry have been announced, and include analysing deaths and serious injuries in the sector, examining the role and powers of Work Health and Safety inspectors and recommending strategies and targets to reduce or eliminate deaths and serious injuries in agriculture.

Ms Scott will also travel to towns across WA to consult directly with members of the industry. Locations and dates for these meetings will be advertised soon.

Anyone wishing to make a submission or provide information to the Inquiry needs to do so by Friday September 30 to aginquiry@worksafe.wa.gov.au or via post to:
