Consumer Protection is concerned about an air conditioning company following a recent spike in consumer complaints.

Solar H C Pty Ltd, trading as Affordable Home Comfort, has been the subject of increasing complaints in the past three months related to the failure of the company to supply the heating component of their “reverse-cycle” evaporative air conditioning systems. Two of the most recent complaints relate to the system not being installed in a timely manner and large deposits being paid.

The company’s sole director is Maxwell Raymond Healy of Bindoon.

Commissioner for Consumer Protection Anne Driscoll said the recent complaints against Affordable Home Comfort are a serious concern.

“Recent advice sent by the business to its customers indicates that Max Healy is ill and unable to fulfil contractual obligations and proposes the business is to be sold,” Ms Driscoll said.

“Until these most recent complaints are resolved, I recommend consumers to exercise discretion when dealing with Affordable Home Comfort.”

Consumers who have had unsatisfactory dealings with Affordable Home Comfort and require assistance are urged to contact Consumer Protection either by email: consumer@commerce.wa.gov.au or by calling 1300 30 40 54.
