Nominations are now open for the prestigious 2021 Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards, celebrating safety across Western Australian workplaces.

WorkSafe WA Commissioner Darren Kavanagh said the Awards would recognise outstanding solutions and innovations in health and safety across all WA workplaces.

“This is a terrific opportunity for WA businesses to show off their workplace safety initiatives and to receive some well-deserved recognition,” he said.

“I encourage individuals and companies of all sizes to consider nominating for the Awards and taking advantage of the opportunity to have their safety achievements publicly recognised.”

The Award categories are:

  • Work health and safety invention of the year;
  • Best solution to a work health and safety risk;
  • Best workplace health and wellbeing initiative;
  • Leadership Excellence Award; and
  • Safety and Health Representative of the Year.

There are two Awards in each category – one for small business and one for large business – to ensure that all sizes of business have an equal opportunity to win an Award.

Nominations close on June 4, and the winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony in October during Safe Work Month. Further information is available at www.dmirs.wa.gov.au/safetyawards.
