Warning about builder’s financial status

Building Commissioner Peter Gow has issued a public warning about the financial status of Mount Hawthorn registered building contractor Turquoise Developments Pty Ltd (reg. BC14354), trading as Talbot Le Page Homes.

The Building Commission is investigating Turquoise Developments’ conduct and has received information giving rise to concerns about the contractor’s ability to pay its debts as and when they fall due.

“All registered building contractors are required to notify the Building Commission if they are no longer able to meet their financial obligations under the Building Services (Registration) Act 2011,” Mr Gow said.

“While the Building Commission has not received such a notification from Turquoise Developments, people dealing with the company should be cautious and should only make payments or give credit when the company confirms its financial situation.

“In the meantime, the Building Commission will continue its investigation and assess whether further action against the building contractor is warranted.”
