Family and Domestic Violence - Paid Leave and Workplace Support
The Safe Spaces initiative was launched by the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence
Hon Simone McGurk MLA on 2 October 2017.
Premier’s Circular 2017/07 supports the initiative by providing public sector employees with access to:
- ten days’ non-cumulative paid Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) leave;
- reinforced flexible work arrangements and safety plan agreements; and
- continued access to employer sponsored confidential counselling services.
We are incorporating FDV leave in all replacement public sector industrial agreements.
Family and Domestic Violence - Paid Leave and Workplace Support Implementation Guidelines have been issued to assist public sector employers in developing FDV policies and procedures.
