Have you complied with an improvement notice

If you have complied with the requirements of an improvement notice you must notify the regulator as soon as reasonably practicable.

General industry

You will need:

  • the improvement notice number;
  • the date it was issued; (not the 'On' date, but the 'Issued date'); and
  • the inspector name.

You will find the details on the improvement notice.

Mining industry

If you have complied with an improvement notice you must notify the regulator as soon as is reasonably practicable through the Safety Regulation System (SRS)

Before you can access SRS, you must register to use the system. Once this is done, you will receive a department account number which you will then use to access SRS.

Petroleum Safety

If you have complied with an improvement notice you must notify the regulator as soon as is reasonably practicable by corresponding with your Case Manager or through petrep@dmirs.wa.gov.au

Extension of time request for improvement notices

The regulator can consider an application to extend time for compliance with an improvement notice under Section 194 of the Work Health and Safet Act 2020 but may only do so if time for compliance of the notice has not ended.
