Prohibition on the use of engineered stone – online information session

This free online information session was open to anyone who may be affected by the upcoming prohibition of engineered stone products.

The session discussed the implications for persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) and workers in industries such as construction, demolition, disposal and waste management of engineered stone.

Sally North, Acting WorkSafe Commissioner and Ivor Roberts, Acting Deputy WorkSafe Commissioner spoke about the new silica regulation, the use of other products and what the engineered stone ban means for businesses.

  • working with legacy products
  • the transition period and,
  • strengthened protections for those exposed to other materials containing respirable crystalline silica.
