Today, 20 June 2022, the changes to state employment laws introduced by the Industrial Relations Legislation Amendment Act 2021 have commenced.

Visit the Changes to state employment laws page for information on the changes, including fact sheets on key topics.

The content of the Wageline website, including the WA award summaries, has been updated to incorporate the changes to state employment law and new employer obligations and employee entitlements.

One key change is that from today domestic workers employed by household employers (people who directly employ someone to provide domestic services in their home) will be entitled to an expanded range of minimum employment protections. Visit the Household Employers page for details.

The provisions of the Industrial Relations Legislation Amendment Act making Easter Sunday a public holiday commenced on 12 February 2022.
