Security of payment – sold out

The metro information sessions have sold out. An online seminar is avaiable here: Online seminar on security of payment

Following a regional roadshow last year, Building and Energy will holding five free information sessions in the Perth CBD on the first stage of new legislation aimed at ensuring subcontractors and suppliers receive timely payments for their work.

The Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 introduces better payment protections for all participants in the sector. It is one of the most significant legislative changes for the local industry since the 2004 introduction of the Construction Contracts Act 2004, and applies to the vast majority of construction contracts entered into within the industry on or after 1 August 2022.

Whether you are from industry, government or the wider community, this is your opportunity to learn about the new laws and how they apply in the WA construction industry. Each information session will consist of an overview of the new payment protection laws and how to navigate the details of them.
