Security of Payment Act – free roadshow

Building and Energy will be travelling the State from September to November 2022 to deliver free information sessions on the first stage of new legislation aimed at ensuring subcontractors and suppliers receive timely payments for their work.

The Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 introduces better payment protections for all participants in the sector. It is one of the most significant legislative changes for the local industry since the 2004 introduction of the Construction Contracts Act 2004, and applies to the vast majority of construction contracts entered into within the industry on or after 1 August 2022.

Whether you are from industry, government or the wider community, this is your opportunity to learn about the new laws and how they will apply in the WA construction industry. Each regional roadshow will include representatives of Building and Energy and will consist of an overview of the new payment protection laws and how to navigate the details of them.

Registrations are essential and details of dates and locations are available on the Security of Payment Act Roadshow webpage.
