In line with our focus on maximising digital content delivery, we are proud to deliver the Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety Annual Report 2017-18 online as an interactive microsite.
Within this microsite, the annual report is also available in downloadable PDF format, and for the first time, a concise version has been developed which provides the reader a snapshot of the annual report clearly articulating the value created by the department over the financial year - the ‘Annual report in focus’.
This inaugural report provides an overview of the department’s performance during its first twelve months of operation and was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Management Act 2006
The report offers transparency, accountability, and compliance with legislative and government policy requirements. It includes summaries of functions, operations and performance highlights of the department, presenting audited financial statements and performance indicators for the year ended 30 June 2018.
Further, it unites the two former departments (Mines and Petroleum and Commerce) using principles of integrated reporting to bring greater cohesion by framing all activities in context of the departments Strategic Intent, as it approaches all activities as Regulator, Service Provider, and Policy Maker.
The department’s Director General David Smith said “I encourage all our stakeholders to take a few moments to explore the microsite and report, to learn more about the wide variety of work we do across the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.”
This publication is also available on request in alternative, accessible formats.
An archive of all previous annual reports for both the former departments is provided:
