Don’t believe the rumours. Your compliance with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is required in 2022, and will continue to be a requirement in 2023.

You still have a few months left to complete your CPD requirements for the 2022 calendar year, so make the most of this time by booking your mandatory and elective sessions now.

Our records show a whopping number of people in the industry haven’t done any CPD activities at all in 2022:

  • over 40 per cent of licensed real estate agents; and
  • over 45 per cent of registered sales representatives and property managers.

If you have a real estate agent licence and a sales representative registration valid at the same time, you need to meet both sets of CPD obligations.

The purpose of the CPD program is to increase the knowledge, skills and professionalism of the real estate and business broking industries.

CPD also aims to protect consumers and promote confidence in the real estate industry.

The requirements of CPD are prescribed by legislation, which make it compulsory for all real estate and business broking agents, sales representatives and property managers to comply with the CPD program. Failure to do so may result in a penalty of up to $5000.
