Don’t believe the rumours. Your compliance with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is required in 2022, and will continue to be a requirement in 2023.

You still have a few months left to complete your CPD requirements for the 2022 calendar year, so make the most of this time by booking your core and elective activities now.

Our records show a whopping number of agents haven’t done any CPD activities in 2022:

  • over 33 per cent of settlement agents; and
  • over 85 per cent of business settlement agents.

The purpose of the CPD program is to increase the knowledge, skills and professionalism of the settlement industry.

CPD also aims to protect consumers and promote confidence in the settlement industry.

The requirements of the CPD program are prescribed by legislation, which makes it compulsory for all settlement and business settlement agents to comply with the CPD program. Failure to do so may result in a penalty of up to $5000.

For any further enquiries about your CPD, please contact cpd@dmirs.wa.gov.au
