What's your bag plan?

As of 1 July 2018, lightweight plastic bags are banned in Western Australia, which is a big change for shoppers and retailers.

Why is it happening?

About seven million bags ended up as litter in WA in 2017 and it’s really bad for our wildlife.

The Department of Water and Environment Regulation have packed information into factsheets at the Whats your bag plan? website.

Consumers will have to remember to take reusable bags or perhaps a cardboard box when heading to the shops.
