Building and Energy is advising property owners affected by the liquidation of Western Luxury Homes Pty Ltd to contact their home indemnity insurance (HII) provider, QBE Insurance.

The Perth building company appointed liquidators on 11 August 2023. Building and Energy understands Western Luxury Homes was contracted for 12 home building projects dating from mid-2020.

Building and Energy Executive Director Saj Abdoolakhan said Western Luxury Homes’ clients should contact QBE on 1300 790 723 to discuss arrangements.

“This enables home owners to begin the process of engaging another registered builder to complete the work or managing other remedies they may be entitled to,” Mr Abdoolakhan said.

Subcontractors affected by Western Luxury Homes’ insolvency should contact RSM Australia Pty Ltd, which has been appointed as the liquidator, via 9261 9604 or christian.martin@rsm.com.au.

On average, 22 registered residential building contractors become insolvent per year in WA, based on data for the past six years.
