Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 20 December 2023), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by over 33 cents per litre (cpl) to 197.9 cpl with Ampol and BP hiking up to 213.9 cpl; Coles Express up to 211.9 cpl; 7-Eleven, EG Ampol and Caltex up to 209.9 cpl; and Vibe up to 207.5 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 31 individual sites offering prices below 162 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 55 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $33 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

• 159.9 cpl at EG Ampol Brabham and Shell High Wycombe in the East;
• 159.9 cpl at Coles Express Brentwood, Coles Express Bull Creek, Coles Express Karawara, Coles Express Langford, Coles Express Myaree, Coles Express South Perth, Coles Express Southern River, Coles Express Waikiki, Coles Express Willetton, EG Ampol South Lake, Liberty East Rockingham, Liberty Gosnells and Vibe Canning Vale in the South; and
• 159.9 cpl at Coles Express Clarkson, Coles Express Duncraig, Coles Express Ellenbrook, Coles Express Jolimont, Coles Express Mosman Park, Coles Express Mount Lawley, Coles Express Ocean Reef, Coles Express Osborne Park, Coles Express Scarborough, Coles Express Wanneroo Pearsall, Coles Express Warwick, Coles Express Wembley, Coles Express West Perth, Liberty Banksia Grove and Liberty Tapping in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

• 159.7 cpl at Vibe Forrestfield in the East;
• 158.7 cpl at Costco Perth Airport and Costco Casuarina (Costco sites are membership based), and 159.3 cpl at Burk Camillo in the South; and
• 159.3 cpl at Burk Alkimos and Burk Bassendean in the North.
