Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 16 August 2023), the average price of regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 30 cents per litre (cpl) to 212.7 cpl with 7-Eleven, BP and Caltex/Puma hiking up to 219.9 cpl; Coles Express up to 217.9 cpl; Ampol and EG Ampol up to 215.9; Vibe up to 213.5 cpl and United up to 209.9 cpl

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are more than 30 individual sites offering prices below 180 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 53 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $32 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 178.5 cpl at Atlas Fuel Midvale and Petro Fuels Swan View in the East;
  • 176.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina and Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and at 7-Eleven Ascot and 7-Eleven Booragoon in the South; and
  • 176.9 cpl at 7-Eleven Balcatta, EG Ampol Banksia Grove and EG Ampol Greenwood in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 178.5 cpl at Atlas Fuel Midvale in the East;
  • 176.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina and Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and 177.3 cpl at Burk Camillo in the South; and
  • 177.3 cpl at Metro Malaga in the North.
