The Work Health and Safety Commission is the statutory body advising on work health and safety. It consists of members representing PCBUs, workers, government and experts in work health and safety matters.
The functions of the WHSC are outlined in section 18 of the WHS Act.
The Mining and Petroleum Advisory Committee (MAPAC) is a statutory body advising on matters relating to work health and safety in the mining and petroleum industries.
The functions of this committee may be outlined in the coming regulations, and may include assisting and providing advice to the Minister and/or the Commission in relation to work health and safety in mining and petroleum industries.
